The national league in Poland is about to start, and all teams, especially the #CLVolleyM squads, will try their best to maintain the top of the leaderboard throughout the season. For the first week, we will watch three top teams on different days: The kickoff will be held on October 20th, with Jastrzebski Wegiel giving the start against Stal Nysa. ZAKSA and Rzeszow will take the court on the 21st and 22nd, respectively. Let's take a closer look at what the CEV Champions League Volley contestants will offer us this season.

It was quite a successful season for Jastrzebski Wegiel last year: The last SuperFinalist won the Polish PlusLiga and SuperCup titles and a silver medal in the national cup. Now, the aim is precise for them: winning all the competitions they will participate in. Under the guidance of Argentinian Marcelo Mendez for one more year, we see some significant changes in the squad.

After parting ways with all the opposites on the roster, the two international talents joined the team for this position. French Jean Patry and Canadian Ryan Sclater will start to fight for the team's success this season. French Trevor Clevenot also said goodbye to the team, and Croatian Marko Sedlacek replaced him. On the other hand, some of the other leading players on the roster will continue wearing the same jersey: The MVP of the last season, Tomasz Fornal, stays on the team, as does French star setter Benjamin Toniutti. Domestic Jakub Popiwczak, Moustapha M'Baye, and Ukrainian Yurii Hladir will also become prominent players for one more season.

The biggest rival to Jastrzebski will definitely be Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle. They maintained their title in the biggest competition on the continent and took second place in the national league. We don't see very big chances in the Finnish expert Tuomas Sammelvuo's team. ZAKSA will mostly continue with the same stars this season as well. Domestic stars Lukasz Kaczmarek, Aleksander Sliwka, Bartosz Bednorz, and Marcin Janusz will continue their careers with ZAKSA this season as well. In addition to them, American stars Erik Shoji, David Smith, and Ukrainian Dmytro Pashytskyy will stay with the team.

These two teams will be the sure favorites of the domestic season, but the third #CLVolleyM squad will also be worth mentioning. Last year's bronze medalist in the national league, Asseco Resovia Rzeszow, will definitely want to push their limits and take one more step this year. While the club still goes with domestic stars Pawel Zatorski, Jakub Kochanowski, and Fabian Drzyzga, they welcomed Karol Klos as well. They also added two French internationals, Stephen Boyer as the opposite and Yacine Louati as the outside hitter. The squad will surely want to put some pressure on the ZAKSA and Jastrzebski and take at least one place from them.

Just like in previous years, the Polish league will bring a lot of excitement and quality of volleyball this year. While there will be a huge fight once again between ZAKSA and Jastrzebski, the Rzeszow side will also build a strong squad to take the title this year. We will see what the Polish CEV Champions League Volley team does in their national tournament.
