The national team season ended in a perfect way for Poland since they secured their spots in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Now, the volleyball excitement will continue in the country with the elite national league. The season will open tomorrow, October 8th, with four matches. Still, the most anticipated clash of the first week will be played on Monday, where two CEV Champions League Volley participants face off.

The biggest favorite of this season will be the defending champion LKS Commercecon Lodz. They broke Grupa Azoty Chemik Police’s 3-year dominance and took the title. They will also participate in #CLVolleyW this season, aiming to get the highest place possible.

Under the guidance of Italian head coach Alessandro Chiappini, the LKS side mainly continues with the same squad. Their international stars, Brazilian setter Roberta Ratzke and Italian opposite Valentina Diouf, stay in the team, as well as the domestic Kamila Witkowska, Paulina Maj-Erwardt, and Zuzanna Gorecka.

The other powerhouse will be the other squad of the same city, Grot Budowlani Lodz. The team finished the national league and cup tournaments in third place. They participated in the CEV Cup as well and ranked fifth last season. This year, they will show themselves in the biggest club volleyball stage of the continent, and they also want to change the color of the medal in national tournaments.

The most worth following players on the roster are Serbian opposite Ana Bjelica, a newcomer, alongside Canadian Andrea Mitrovic and American Mackenzie May. Polish Ewelina Wilinska, Marta Pol, and Justyna Lysiak will also maintain giving their best for the team’s success.

It is impossible to forget Developres Rzeszow when speaking about Poland. Last year’s CEV Champions League Volley quarterfinalists also took the Polish Supercup and a silver medal in the local league. French head coach Stephane Antiga made a few changes to the roster, including welcoming young opposite Gabriela Makarowska-Kulej and Colombian outside hitter Amanda Coneo. The domestic stars of the squad, Katarzyna Wenerska, Magdalena Jurczyk, and Aleksandra Szczyglowska, will also spend the season in the same jersey.

The first whistle for the Polish Tauron Liga is just around the corner, and all three #CLVolleyW clubs will want to push their limits to take the trophy at the end of this long season. Watching volleyball is always a good idea, but remember to take a look at the Polish league since you won’t regret it.
