After completing the #CLVolleyM’s pool stage and advancing to the next phase, the most elite teams in Europe will take the court in their domestic leagues with a clear goal of achieving triumphs this weekend.

The reigning CEV Champions League Volley titleholder Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle will host Asseco Resovia Rzeszow in the 22nd round of the Polish Plusliga. Lastly, ZAKSA failed to pass Trefl Gdansk in the national league and suffered a defeat against Itas Trentino, and completed Pool D in second place. On the other hand, Rzeszow is doing a pretty good job in the Polish league: With only three defeats in 21 matches, they are currently placed at the top of the standings. Therefore, after losing recent essential clashes, ZAKSA aims to close the gap between the leaders and take a victory.

However, more than overpowering Rzeszow will be needed for ZAKSA to rise to higher places on the charts. The quarterfinalist of the CEV Champions League Volley, Jastrzebski Wegiel, and ZAKSA’s opponent in the playoffs, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, will face Trefl Gdansk and GKS Katowice, respectively. Without a doubt, the goal of both teams is a three-point victory and to maintain their places on the overall standings.

All Italian CEV Champions League Volley participants completed their groups as leaders and secured their spots in the quarterfinals. This weekend, a relatively comfortable weekend is waiting for them in the 17th leg of the Italian SuperLega. Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, Itas Trentino, and Cucine Lube Civitanova will take the court against Powervolley Milano, Vero Volley Monza, and Verona Volley, correspondingly.

The leaders of Pool B and direct quarterfinalist of CEV Champions League Volley, Turkish Halkbank Ankara, will play against Galatasaray HDI Sigorta Istanbul in the 17th round of the Turkish Efeler League.

Halkbank lastly took a clear victory of 3-0 versus Hebar Palazdhik in the #CLVolleyM and is the ongoing leader of the national league with only one defeat. Galatasaray side said farewell to the CEV Cup after the second defeat against PGE Skra Belchatow in playoffs.

Other playoff squads of the CEV Champions League Volley, Ziraat Bankası Ankara from Türkiye, VfB Friedrichshafen from Germany, and Tours VB from France will hold matches with the teams that are placed under them in charts so far; thus, the goal for both teams will finish the week with comfortable victories.

This weekend, except the massive clash between ZAKSA and the current leader of Poland, Rzeszow, the teams advanced to the next round of the #CLVollleyM will play crucial matches in their domestic leagues against relatively weaker opponents.
