The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) recently appointed the new head coaches of their men’s and women’s ‘senior’ national teams. The OSCG Board of Directors chose Jovo Caković to lead their women’s team, whereas Ivica Jevtić will be at the helm of the men’s side.

Caković is regarded as one of the best coaches in the Balkan region, particularly recognised for continuously developing many quality players and he is associated with numerous trophy wins. Caković is the coach of Jedinstvo from Stara Pazova, the triple crown winners completing a clean sweep of all domestic competitions in Serbia (Championship, Cup, and Super Cup) this past season. With Jedinstvo, he was also the champion of Serbia in the 2022/2023 season and the Serbian Cup and Super Cup winner in 2016/2017.
As the head coach of the Serbian women’s U18 national team, he won silver at the European Championship in 2015, and bronze with the U17 national team at the European Championship held in 2020 in Podgorica.
Caković holds the title of Senior Sports Volleyball Coach from the Sports Academy in Belgrade. The Board of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro appointed Caković to his role for four years. The 44-year-old from Prijepolje is the seventh head coach of the Montenegrin women’s national team since the country’s independence in 2006.

Ivica Jevtić is a former player of the Montenegrin national team and of Budućnost PODGORICA as well, with whom he won two titles in the national league of then Serbia and Montenegro (2004/2005 and 2005/2006). During his career, he also played for Mladi Radnik (Serbia), Hypo Tirol (Austria), Mörser SC (Germany), Qatar S.C. (Qatar), and Shahdab Yazd (Iran). He currently coaches Crvena Zvezda BEOGRAD, with whom he won the Serbian Championship in the past season, as well as the latest edition of the Serbian Super Cup.
Jevtić was part of Igor Kolaković’s coaching staff in the Serbian senior national team (2022-2024), and he was also the head coach of the Serbian U22 men’s national team.
The OSCG Board appointed Jevtić for four years (3+1). The 41-year-old from Požarevac is the eighth head coach of Team Montenegro since the country’s independence.
