Italy wins EuroVolleyW U22 Crown by defeating Serbia in the Final

Hosts Italy have managed to win the Final against arch rival Serbia in front of an exuberating home crowd in Lecce in straight sets. Türkiye defeats Poland in the bronze medal match to complete the podium.

In an incredible atmosphere created by the Italian fans, favourites Italy defeated Serbia in the final of the CEV European Championship U22, only two years apart from them winning gold in the U21 championship back in 2022. Despite the straight sets win, Italy had to fight hard to hold off Serbia, winning 2 of the 3 sets at the minimum 2-points difference, giving the crowd exactly what they came to see, a volleyball show to rival any match played at a senior level.

In the bronze medal match, Türkiye overcame Poland in straight sets to claim the last spot on the podium following a dominant performance in which they allowed their opponents to cross the 20 points mark only once.

Volleyball sensation, Alexia Carutasu from Türkiye finished the tournament as the top scorer of the Final Round (66 points/4 matches) at her first tournament following her decision to play for Türkiye.
