“I started playing Volleyball a year and a half ago in Mojkovac as part of the OSCG project ‘Free Volleyball School’. I trained in the hall of the Aleksa Ðilas-Bećo elementary school, under the guidance of Miluša Filipović, who is a teacher involved in this project and who has contributed significantly to my development in this sport. I would also like to mention project coordinator Dragiša Ćalov, who helped me a lot too,” says Nemanja.
The U17 men’s national team is currently in Bar where they are preparing for the U17 European Championship, which will be held in Podgorica from July 19-30 and will be hosted by the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro. Talented Kljajević has been invited to the camp.
“It was my great desire to play for my national team, and I will try to give my best in training. It means a lot to me to be part of the team that will represent our country at the U17 European Championship.”
Nemanja has shown great eagerness to progress by travelling three times a week from his native Mojkovac to Bijelo Polje to train with the volleyball club Jedinstvo.
“I like the atmosphere in the club, and it is a great honour for me to train there, as we have achieved remarkable results, such as winning the under-age championship in the 2021-2022 season,” he adds.
The ‘Free Volleyball School’ project aims to popularise men’s Volleyball in Montenegro, and it is supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
