Starting from the 2026 season, the U22 European Championships are restructured so that they can better fulfil their mission and role as a bridge between youth development initiatives and the professional senior level of the sport. Apart the reshaped 24 teams Main Draw the competition will feature prize money at stake – 5,000 € per gender – in an effort to further raise its profile and professionalization.
