Knack ROESELARE
- Halfway their 35th European campaign, their 22nd campaign in the prestigious CEV Champions League Volley competition, Knack ROESELARE is ranked on the third place with four points in Pool A.
- Their first encounter in the away match against Olympiacos PIRAEUS resulted in a 0-3 score (19-25, 20-25, 19-25).
- Their last match, against Grupa Azoty KEDZIERZYNH-KOZLE, the triple consecutive winner of the CEV Champions League since 2021, turned out in a nail-biting thriller with a close 2-3 defeat (20-25, 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 10-15).
- With three matches to go, Knack ROESELARE is still in the race for the next round in the Champions League competition.
- Last Saturday, Knack ROESELARE won 0-3 (22-25, 18-25, 19-25) against Lindemans Aalst in the first semi-final of the Belgian Cup.
- Captain Matthijs VERHANNEMAN (114th match in the Champions League competition): “The star team of Olympiacos Piraeus will surely be looking for revenge after their home defeat against Knack Volley in November. On the other side, my team want to confirm our 0-3 victory from the first round so that we continue to have chances to move on to the next round in the Champions League competition. It won't be easy with top players as Salvador Hidalgo Oliva and Mitar Tzourits next to Dragan Travica on the other side of the net. In the national competition we can control matches through our efficient block-defense. This is more difficult in Europe and you have to increase the service pressure. That worked very well indeed in Piraeus. This should also be the key to success in our own Tomabel Hall.”
