    • Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE faced Turkish opponent Ziraat Bank ANKARA in the group stage of this Champions League campaign. They lost 2-3 in Ankara on 29 November and 0-3 in Kędzierzyn-Koźle on 19 December.
    • Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE met Turkish opponents twice before beyond the group stage, against Arkas IZMIR in the 2011/12 Playoff 12 (1-3 and 0-3) and in the 2012/13 Playoff 6 (3-2 and 3-1).
    • Halkbank ANKARA missed out on last season's Champions League final when they were eliminated by Polish side JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel in the semi-finals, losing 1-3 at home and winning 3-2 away. JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel went on to lose the final against Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE.

    • Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE can become the second team to win at least four successive Champions League titles, after Zenit KAZAN from 2014/15 to 2017/18 (4 in a row).
