Clubs from Slovenia, Spain, Azerbaijan and Türkiye on to the finals
Beach Volley European Cup
The finals of the inaugural edition of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup will reunite beach volleyball clubs from four different nations on Sunday, when the event comes to an end in Balikesir, Türkiye.
Slovenia’s Ludus Ljubljana and Spain’s CV Majadahona Madrid will play for the women’s title at the Burhaniye Ören Beach, while the men’s crown is between Türkiye’s TVF Spor Lisesi SK Ankara and Azerbaijan’s Murov AzTerminal Baku.
After finishing first in Pool B on Friday, the women of Ludus Ljubljana started the Saturday in the semifinals, where they faced the Italians from Beach Volley Training Beinasco. After winning the first match 2-1, the Slovenians dropped the second in straight sets and had to grind to produce an 18-16 victory in the golden set and advance to the final.

If the Slovenians needed one golden set to make it to the finals, their next opponents, Majadahonda Madrid, had to win two to earn their spot. In the opening round of the playoffs, they came from behind to top Türkiye’s Altinyurt Sport Kulübü Istanbul.
Later, in the semifinals, they again completed a comeback, this time against France’s Ré Beach Club with a 16-14 win in the golden set, to move forward.

The two men’s semifinals also needed golden sets to determine the winners and the two clubs that started the day in the playoffs prevailed. In one of them, TVF Spor Lisesi SK Ankara came from behind to beat Austria’s ABC Wörthersee with a dramatic 19-17 victory on the golden set.

Earlier, in the playoffs, the Turkish prevailed over Italy’s Beach Volley Training Beinasco with two wins.
CEV Beach Volley European Cup – Men’s Match Schedule and Results
The other matchup of the playoffs saw Murov AzTerminal Baku overcome the Hungarians of Strandroplabdazasert SE Budapest with a 15-5 victory in the golden set.
In the semifinals, the Azeris again needed the golden set (15-10), but came from behind to defeat the French of Beach Volley Montpellier.
