The second edition of the Romanian Beach Volleyball Clubs Championships finished earlier this month. The event is growing slowly but surely and this year it featured seven and four clubs among men and women, respectively. Most of the teams are university clubs, thus enjoying full support of their respective universities in their continued efforts to promote and grow Beach Volleyball in Romania.

CSU ASE Bucharest retained the women's title they had won last year

After three long days filled with spectacular games, CSU ASE Bucharest crowned themselves women’s champions for the second straight year. They did so after emerging victorious from a closely contested final with CSU Galati, which finished in a dramatic golden set (21-19). The bronze medals went to UVT Timisoara.

In the men’s competition, CSU Resita caused a sensation as they cruised to a comprehensive 2-0 victory in the final with UVT Timisoara. The privately-run club PRO Volei Arad, which is working hard to develop Beach Volleyball especially among young boys, completed the podium after securing the bronze medals.

CSU Resita surprisingly secured the men's crown among seven participating clubs

The event was a good opportunity to explain again the benefits resulting from the introduction of such a club competition, especially in a country like Romania where all players are registered in clubs and thus can compete for further glory on sand.

Both winners have secured the right to represent Romania in the preliminary phase of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2025 scheduled for late September / early October.
