CEV EuroBeachVolley 2025
The CEV EuroBeachVolley 2025 will be taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany. The event will run from July 30 to August 3, and it will feature the 32 best teams in each gender from across the continent. Reigning European champions Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann, who claimed their maiden title a few weeks ago in the Netherlands, will certainly be very determined to defend their crown on home soil.
After the history-making multi-sport European Championships 2022 in Munich, Beach Volleyball fans can look forward to the next highlight as the CEV EuroBeachVolley will return to Germany three years after the highly successful event in the Bavarian capital. For five days, Düsseldorf will host top-level Beach Volleyball, with 32 teams per gender fighting for the continental titles.
The European Beach Volleyball Championships, introduced in 1993, will be jointly organised by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) and the German Volleyball Federation (DVV). This will be the fifth time EuroBeachVolley is held in Germany with previous editions organised in Timmendorfer Strand (2004), Hamburg (2008), Berlin (2010), and Munich (2022). Germany is a key market with over five million volleyball fans. Next year’s event will be supported by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) with its partner WestLotto, by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI) and by D.Sports. Ticket sales are scheduled to start at the end of this year.
With the support of the home fans, Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler, silver medallists at the Olympic Games in Paris and runners-up at EuroBeachVolley 2024 earlier this summer, will also want to take advantage of the home ground. Germany is the most successful nation in the history of the competition, with their athletes having claimed a total of 39 medals, including as many as 14 gold ones.
Markus Dieckmann, DVV President: “We are delighted to bring the European Beach Volleyball Championships to Germany for the fifth time and offer our players and fans an absolute Beach Volleyball highlight. It will be an unforgettable experience.”
Roko Sikirić“Germany is historically a Beach Volleyball powerhouse and a key partner for the CEV in the organisation of major international events. Next year’s EuroBeachVolley will continue this positive trend, and we look forward to delivering a real Beach Volleyball party in the modern and vibrant city of Düsseldorf.”
Andrea Milz, State Secretary for Sports and Volunteer Work of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW): “We are looking forward to this further highlight in the calendar of the sports state of NRW. This year, we have already supported various sports events as part of our cooperation with WestLotto, and in 2025, several national and international top events will be added.”
Dr Stephan Keller, Mayor of Düsseldorf: “Top-level sports meet top venues! Düsseldorf offers the perfect infrastructure for major international events, and we are excited to welcome the European Beach Volleyball elite to the city next summer and provide them with the perfect stage.”
