Greece’s Alternate Minister of Sports pays visit to Ios Futures

On Thursday the Alternate Minister of Sports of Greece, Mr Giannis Vroutsis paid a visit to the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures in Ios to underline the importance of such sports events in the further development and support of tourism in Greece, especially in islands such as Ios – where an event of this calibre has taken place for a few years already.

“We are happy to host an important event like the Beach Pro Tour Futures and to show to all the international players and all the supporters coming from all over the world the beauty of our history, culture, and natural environment. Beach Volleyball has chosen the green way in its philosophy and event organisation, and we approve this choice that puts Greece on the map as a pioneer of a sustainable lifestyle,” Mr Vroutsis said. 

The event in Ios started on Wednesday with the qualification round and will be reaching its climax on Saturday with the medal matches.
