Helisandsacademy sweep top honours at inaugural domestic event in Portugal
News
Earlier this summer, the Portuguese Volleyball Federation delivered for the very first time a domestic competition specifically designed for Beach Volleyball clubs, which did also count as a qualifying event for the preliminary phase of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2025. This inaugural edition was held at Praia de Albarquel, Setúbal.
This initiative is testament to the ever-growing appeal of this new continental competition as well as to its ability to foster the further development of the sport in Europe. The men’s and women’s teams representing the Helisandsacademy emerged victorious, thereby securing the right to represent Portugal in the first stage of the European Cup.
It has been a busy and exciting summer for Portugal’s Beach Volleyball community – since the country and namely the city of Espinho back in mid-July played host to the Beach Volley Nations Cup Final – where teams from Norway and Germany triumphed among men and women, respectively.
