Montpellier, a city known for its rich sporting culture and dynamic atmosphere, is the perfect place for this competition. The Club Montpellier Beach Volley is no stranger to hosting high-profile events, having successfully organised Beach Pro Tour Future and World Tour events in the past. With its state-of-the-art facilities and experienced staff, the club is well-prepared to deliver an exceptional experience for athletes and fans alike.

Stéphane Canet, Director of the Montpellier Beach Volley Club, says “the club is proud to host the Beach Volley European Cup final. It is a great opportunity to promote European Beach Volleyball clubs and to capitalise on the legacy of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”

The CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2024 is the culmination of an extensive qualification process that began earlier in the season. A total of 18 National Federations across Europe held CEV-homologated domestic Beach Volleyball competitions for clubs, each vying for a coveted spot in this continental event. The final list of participating clubs will be announced later, following the registration deadline set for September 5.

The inaugural event held last year in Balikesir, Türkiye, was a resounding success

The tournament format mirrors the exciting structure that fans and players have come to appreciate in the Beach Volley Nations Cup. Each club is allowed to bring a team of four up to six players to compete in France. The competition will kick off with a pool phase, where clubs will battle for a spot in the single-elimination knockout stage.

In this thrilling ‘club vs. club’ format, each matchup will feature a double-header, with four athletes from each club competing. The lineup for each match will be determined just before the start, adding an element of strategy and anticipation. Should the teams end up sharing a win apiece after the two matches, a decisive Golden Set will be played to determine the winner.

As the second edition of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup, this event is set to build on the success of its inaugural event held last year in Balikesir, Türkiye, thereby showcasing the best of European club Beach Volleyball. The competition promises to be a spectacular display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, as Europe’s top clubs compete for glory on the sands of Montpellier.

Fans and spectators are encouraged to mark their calendars for this unmissable event, which will not only crown the best clubs in European Beach Volleyball but also celebrate the sport’s growing popularity across the continent. Last year, clubs from Azerbaijan and Slovenia claimed top honours in the men’s and women’s events, respectively.
