Teams from northern Europe can look forward to an additional opportunity to compete internationally, as a NEVZA zonal event will be taking place later this month, and more specifically from June 22 to 24, in Oddanesand, Norway.

It is the first NEVZA zonal Beach Volleyball competition since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020. The event in Oddanesand – where a NEVZA tournament took place in 2019 as well – will welcome 32 teams per gender and provide a total purse of € 5,000.

Oddanesand lies some 150 km southwest of the Norwegian capital, Oslo. The organisers will set up as many as six courts – a centre court and five side courts – plus a warm-up court.

Beach Volleyball obviously enjoys enormous popularity in Norway – with the reigning European and Olympic champions, Anders Berntsen Mol and Christian Sandlie Sørum, a household name in the Scandinavian country.

Interested teams can sign up until June 6 to join the NEVZA zonal event in Oddanesand, where next to prize money, ranking points will be at stake as well. The event is open to minimum three teams from the same National Federation, with a minimum of six due to represent the host country, Norway.
