For the fifth time since 2017, the final stage of the Panhellenic Beach Volleyball Championships took place in the idyllic and picturesque setting of Agios Nikolaos, Crete, and more specifically at Ammos Beach, a beautiful slice of beach situated close to the famous lake of Agios Nikolaos. The organisers constructed a court specifically for the event.

Theodoros Papadimitriou claimed his fifth national title overall and third in Agios Nikolaos, alongside partner Panagiotis Ioannidis, who secured his maiden Panhellenic crown.

The women’s title remains in the hands of the Karagkouni family for a third year running, as Dimitra Karagkouni, sister of four-time champion Panagiota, triumphed with the Panhellenic championship title alongside partner Ilektra Agriodimou. Both players cashed their first national championship title.

The finals ran in front of a maximum capacity crowd who had filled the seaside stands since the early afternoon.

Papadimitriou received the Most Valuable Player award after rolling back the years, as his combination of experience and technical ability guided his team to the title. Agriodimou, on the other hand, rose to the occasion and played beyond her level, with her energy and tenacious fighting spirit crucial in her team’s path to the championship title, and she deservedly received the Most Valuable Player prize for the women’s competition.
