Record-breaking 18 National Federations secure homologation of domestic Beach Volleyball club competitions
News
The European Beach Volleyball community is buzzing with excitement since as many as 18 National Federations have secured homologation of their domestic Beach Volleyball club competitions, two more compared to last season. More than 200 clubs will be participating in such national competitions, thereby promising thrilling matches for fans across Europe to follow.
The winners of each domestic competition will secure a coveted spot to compete at CEV Beach Volley European Cup Final. Scheduled for the second half of the 2024 season, the Beach Volley European Cup Final will showcase the best club teams from across the continent in the second edition of this innovative competition. Teams will battle it out in a club versus club format, with each club represented by two teams. Each team is allowed to comprise up to three players, which means one substitution per set is possible. This is a truly innovative format, which will add intriguing tactical dimensions with both coaching and substitutions allowed, which are rather atypical in the Beach Volleyball game.
The countries that have homologated their domestic Beach Volleyball club competitions are Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, England, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye, and Ukraine.
Last year’s inaugural CEV Beach Volley European Cup was held in Balikesir, Türkiye, with Azerbaijan’s Murov AzTerminal BAKU and Slovenia’s Ludus LJUBLJANA claiming top honours in the men’s and women’s competitions, respectively.
