Sunrise KYIV secures double triumph at Ukrainian qualifier for CEV Beach Volley European Cup

Even under the current, very challenging circumstances, the Ukrainian Volleyball Federation did manage to deliver the first edition of their national Beach Volleyball championships specifically designed for clubs, with the event held in Kyiv from August 15 to 18, 2024. This did also count as a qualifier for the second edition of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup scheduled for October 10-13 in Montpellier, France. 

The figures may look small at a first glance, and yet some four and three clubs contested the men’s and women’s competition, respectively, thereby laying the groundwork for the further growth of the sport and development of Beach Volleyball clubs across the Eastern European country. The clubs involved in the competition were Sunrise (Kyiv), SET (Kyiv), Stolychnyi (Kyiv), Winners Sport HUB (Lviv), and the Ukrainian Beach Volleyball Academy (Kyiv). The competition did feature quite a few names that sound familiar to Beach Volleyball fans – since some of these players have been competing on the international stage for years. 

The final standings read as follows, with the winners securing their qualification for the European Cup:
