The fifth matchday of the 4th round of the CEV Champions League Women is upon us, so we are getting back into the groove with the CEV Champions League Women Fantasy, after the first rounds saw a fairly successful performance from our team.

The first-of-its-kind experience for CEV, gives fans the opportunity to become the coach of their own team across the men’s and women’s European premium competitions. Fans can pick a team of twelve players with specific assigned positions inside a dedicated team budget of 100 million euros.

Haven’t you already signed in and chosen your team? Don’t worry, we got you covered.

So, the rules are quite simple and can be found here. To start, you must select a squad of 12 players with an initial budget of 100 million fantasy euros. The initial squad selection must consist of: three outside hitters, three middle blockers, two setters, two liberos and two opposites. You must select 7 players from your squad of 12 players to form your starting roster for each game week.

Of course, the risk of having a player not featuring on the court is high, so you will also have five reserves in the team, who can come on, provided the stars are not playing. We have learnt and adapted and now we get ready to our fifth draft in the CEV Champions League Women Fantasy.

KEY STARS

Tijana Bosković (€15m): The budget enables us to have a heavy hitter each time and with the opposites bringing the most points in the Fantasy game, we went the safe way, bringing Bosković in. The Serbian star has scored 179 points so far, but she is slowly getting into form, having 74 points only in the last round. Coming back to native Serbia to play against Tent Obrenovac, Boskovic will spearhead Eczacibasi Dynavit’s line-up, as they aim to secure the first place with their fifth win in five matches.

Agnieszka Korneluk (€10.5m): Rzezsow’s middle blocker has the largest number of blocks this season, 15, an average of 1.15 per set. She is also the Polish side’s second best scorer, with 44 points and her last match saw Korneliuk add 41 points to her overall tally in the Fantasy game. With the Polish side clearly favoured against Maritsa Plovdiv, a team they won 3:1 in the first match of the season, she should be in for a big haul again.

Hena Kurtagić (€7m): For the third time this season, Kurtagić makes our team, with some excellent performances. Between the middle blockers, Numia Vero Volley Milano’s rising star has been the sixth best scorer in the Fantasy game, with 136 points. She has scored 34 points this season, just behind Paola Egonu and Nika Daalderop, while providing 10 blocks. Milano face a must-win match against Porto to secure a chance to battle for the first place in their pool.

KEY DIFFERENTIAL

Julita Piasecka (€5.5m): For a meagre €5.5m, you are getting the second best scoring outside hitter in the Fantasy game. Piasecka, an up-and-coming 22-year outside hitter, has 218 points, being topped only by fellow Polish player Paulina Damaske. Piasecka has 61 points scored in the CEV Champions League Women this season, being 10th in the top scorer standings. And with her team facing Stuttgart in a do-or-die away clash, there is no room for error for the Polish side.
