The third week of Italy’s Serie A1 Women brought mixed fortunes for the country’s CEV Champions League Volley contenders. While Conegliano, Novara, and Milano all recorded solid victories against their less-favored opponents, Savino Del Bene Scandicci suffered a surprising defeat — their first of the season.

Reigning champions A. Carraro Prosecco Doc Conegliano continued their perfect start with a dominant performance against Omag-Mt San Giovanni In Marignano. From the first serve to the last, Conegliano controlled every aspect of the match, cruising to a 3-0 victory (25-12, 25-19, 25-16). Swedish superstar Isabelle Haak once again led the charge, scoring 16 points and earning the MVP award, while coach Daniele Santarelli’s side made it three wins from three with yet another clinical display.

Elsewhere, Igor Gorgonzola Novara maintained their position at the top of the standings with a straight-sets win over Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76. Though the first two sets were closely contested, Novara’s composure and depth made the difference, sealing a 3-0 victory (25-23, 26-24, 25-20). With nine points from their first three matches, Novara remain the only team with a perfect record, demonstrating both consistency and early-season sharpness.

Numia Vero Volley Milano hosted Megabox Ondulati Del Savio Vallefoglia and produced a convincing performance to claim a 3-1 victory (26-24, 19-25, 25-21, 25-16). After a minor dip in the second set, Milano quickly regained control to secure their second win of the season. Italian opposite Paola Egonu was unstoppable, delivering 25 points — including 3 blocks and 3 aces — while Khalia Lanier added 17 points to support the home side’s offense. Despite a strong 20-point showing from Erblira Lici, Vallefoglia couldn’t keep pace with Milano’s attacking rhythm.

The biggest surprise of the week came from Savino Del Bene Scandicci, who fell unexpectedly to Honda Cuneo Granda Volley in straight sets (0-3: 19-25, 10-25, 24-26). Scandicci struggled to find their usual flow and were outplayed in every department, marking a disappointing setback after a strong start to the season. Young Italian star Ekaterina Antropova scored 18 points (including 3 aces and 1 block) but was the only player from her team to reach double digits. For Cuneo, Erika Pritchard delivered an outstanding all-around performance, contributing 18 points with 5 blocks, earning her the MVP honors.

After three rounds, Novara lead the standings with 9 points, followed closely by Conegliano, Milano, and Scandicci, all separated by just a single point. With such a tight race at the top, every match in the coming weeks will play a decisive role — and as the Super Cup Final approaches, Italy’s elite are sharpening their form for what promises to be a thrilling battle ahead.
