On Wednesday night, Portugal’s Sporting Clube de BRAGA – who are making this season their first ever appearance in an international competition – secured their second victory in as many matches with Spain’s Ocisa HARO Rioja to advance to the 8th Finals of the women’s CEV Challenge Cup 2026.
The ‘Warriors’ from Portugal had celebrated a 3-1 away victory last week in Spain and they started the re-match with much confidence. In a solid and rather controlled performance, they dominated from start to finish thereby cruising to a comprehensive 25-17, 25-13, 25-19 victory. Their rivals in the next stage of the competition scheduled for January will be Greece’s standout Panathinaikos ATHENS, who did not concede a single set in their 16th Final matches with Volley DÜDINGEN of Switzerland.
