Rafail Koumentakis“It was a great victory, and I am proud of my team. Panathinaikos is a great team, and they have played great throughout the whole season. It is a pity this match was played without fans. Now our eyes are on Maccabi.”
The Greek derby between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos ended in a Golden Set after Olympiacos reversed the outcome of the first matchup to secure a 3-1 away victory over the ‘Greens’. The all-important Golden Set went to Olympiacos by the compelling score of 15-6.
Dimitrios Andreopoulos, head coach of Panathinaikos: “Olympiacos put much pressure on our receivers, and we lost our focus. It was a tough battle and we lost. We are very sad because we played the match with no fans. One day we will be in the European finals, and we will win.”
Salvador Hidalgo Oliva, player of Olympiacos: “We studied Panathinaikos well. After losing the first set, we had nothing to lose anymore, so we played better with no stress. I am proud of my team.”
