This weekend, the most-awaited game will be played in Poland, where two #CLVolleyW teams will face off, and the powerhouses in Türkiye and Italy will aim for comfortable victories against relatively weaker opponents, especially the VakifBank side after a shocking defeat last week.
Without a doubt, the most anticipated clash of the weekend is the one between two CEV Champions League Volley participants: Developres Rzeszow will host BKS Bostik ZGO Bielsko-Biala in the third round of the Polish Tauron Liga. Currently, Rzeszow won the first two games and ranked in second place with a total of five points. The Bielsko-Biala side made a strong debut in their first battle and took a three-set victory. It will be important for both sides to perform well since the result will mean more than a victory.
PGE Grot Budowlani Lodz, the team that recently secured their spot in the 4th round of the most prestigious tournament of the continent, will visit Opole. Lodz is currently in the lead with a perfect 2-0 record, and they definitely want to maintain this high performance. With a more motivated squad at the moment, it will also be important to follow them on their domestic challenges as well.
Turkish elite teams will have a comfortable weekend this time. #CLVolleyW teams Fenerbahce Medicana Istanbul and Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul will meet Nilufer Belediyespor and Zeren Spor, respectively, in the second leg of the Turkish Sultanlar League. Both clubs won their first game without any difficulties, and the goal is surely to keep this momentum.
The third CEV Champions League Volley squad of the country, VakifBank Istanbul, will face Kuzey Boru Genclik. Due to a shocking defeat, VakifBank did not start the national season as they usually do; therefore, they will surely try to perform better and receive their first victory for the season.
No worries ahead in Italy as well: All three CEV Champions League Volley clubs will take the court against comparably weaker teams, and a clear win will be expected from A. Carraro Imoco Volley Conegliano, Vero Volley Milano, and Savino Del Bene Scandicci, who became victorious in the first round. We will see how they complete the weekend.
Two #CLVolleyW teams are set to clash in Poland, marking the highlight of the weekend. Meanwhile, the Polish newcomer of the fourth round and powerhouse teams in Italy and Turkey are expected to have an easier time, with calmer matchups on their schedules. However, VakıfBank, after a surprising loss last week, will need to stay cautious as they look to bounce back. Other top teams should also remain alert, as what happened to VakıfBank could happen to them. The weekend will show if all goes according to plan or if there are more surprises in store.
