One of the CEV Champions League Volley teams, Projekt Warszawa, missed an important opportunity this weekend in Poland.

The main opponents of the Warszawa could not take the court due to the coronavirus positive players in the squads; being aware of this, they visited LUK Lublin in the 18th round of the Polish PlusLiga.

It could've been a chance for Warszawa to close the gap among the other clubs; however, they were beaten in three sets (3-0: 25-23, 26-24, 25-12).

The Polish setter of the Lublin side, Grzegorz Pajak was selected as the MVP of the match, while Wojciech Wlodarczyk became the top scorer with 14 points. None of the players scored in double digits on the losing squad, who remained in fifth place in the overall standings despite the defeat.

The CEV Champions League Volley teams for Serbia and Turkey continued to be in the second position and closely followed the leaders.

Vojvodina NS Seme Novi Sad met Nis in the 14th week of the Serbian Men’s Superleague. Overpowering their relatively weaker opponent in four sets (3-1: 25-19, 25-23, 27-29, 25-20), Novi Sad came closer to the Crvena Zvezda, the team which is currently the leader of the league but suffered a loss this weekend.

The Turkish club Ziraat Bankasi Ankara had no difficulties beating Kiziltepe and became victorious with a clear score of 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-23). They remained at the vice-leader position, behind the quarterfinalist of the CEV Challenge Cup, Halkbank Ankara.

In Italy, both CEV Champions League Volley Pool E representatives won their battles in four sets: Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia and Itas Trentino beat Allianz Milano and Vero Volley Monza, respectively by 3-1 and completed the week without losing points.

Perugia secured the top spot, and Trentino tied the points with the Cucine Lube Civitanova in the charts.
