Huge Week Across CEV Club Competitions

Europe’s elite clubs still in the CEV club competitions are ready to enter the court once again in matches with a lot at stake across the board. From the CEV Champions League Volley semifinals to the CEV Cup men finals across genders, this week is an absolute treat for anyone that enjoys a great game of volleyball!
In the men’s CEV Champions League Volley we are a mere two matches away from finding out which teams would achieve the SuperFinalists status. In the first matches of the two ties, played only a week ago, Jastrzebski Wegiel and the reigning champions, Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE, took a huge step forward by only losing one set each.
The only remaining option for their opponents, Halkbank Ankara and Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia is to win the second leg by conceding a maximum of one set and thus pushing the ties into a Golden Set. Anything else would mean the end of their Champions League journey.
On the women’s side of the competition, Türkiye has dominated the competition with all three of their representatives qualifying into the semis, Fenerbahce and VakifBank going head to head for one of the spots in the SuperFinals. The only “outsider” still with a chance at the title is Italy’s Igor Gorgonzola Novara who will be facing Eczacibasi Istanbul.
The CEV Cup Men is almost at the end, with the second leg of the Final seeing fan favourites Modena travel to Belgium where Knack Roeselare will be hoping to celebrate a title win in front of their home crowd, following a devastating performance in Italy which lead them to a straight sets win.
In the women’s CEV Cup Final, Romanians Alba Blaj, Champions League Finalist in 2018 when the Final Four tournament was hosted by Bucharest, Romania, will be hosting Savino del Bene Scandicci from Italy, a team with an outstanding journey in this year’s CEV Cup competition. Their return match is set to take place next week.
