The third week of action in Italy’s Serie A1 Women unfolds today, with all four of the country’s CEV Champions League Volley representatives chasing another win to maintain their strong domestic form. The round carries extra significance for A. Carraro Prosecco Doc Conegliano and Numia Vero Volley Milano, as both sides will treat their matches as crucial tests before clashing in the Italian Super Cup Final this weekend.

The reigning #CLVolleyW and Italian champions A. Carraro Prosecco Doc Conegliano face l’Omag-Mt San Giovanni in Marignano, a team still searching for their first set of the season. Conegliano opened their campaign with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over UYBA, before sweeping Cuneo 3-0 last week in a display of growing rhythm and confidence. San Giovanni, on the other hand, have lost both their opening matches in straight sets and currently sit at the bottom of the standings. With their depth, experience, and form, Conegliano enter this fixture as overwhelming favorites.

“We must immediately reset after winning another home match and enjoying the emotions from what we achieved last season. This year, the journey will be tougher than last season, and we’ve understood that we need to give even more. It will take some time to find full chemistry and new energy, both mentally and physically. Soon we’ll be playing for another trophy, but it’s essential not to slip up in this game and to bring home three points to arrive ready for the Super Cup.”

Meanwhile, Numia Vero Volley Milano will take on Megabox Ondulati Del Savio Vallefoglia in what promises to be a crucial match both for morale and momentum. Milano began the season confidently with a straight-set win over Bergamo but stumbled in a five-set thriller against Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 last week. A win here would restore confidence ahead of their Super Cup showdown with Conegliano, while another slip could push them down the standings early. Vallefoglia have proven resilient so far, playing back-to-back tie-breakers — a victory over Perugia and a narrow loss to Firenze — and could present a tricky challenge if they find rhythm early.

Elsewhere, the other two Italian #CLVolleyW contenders, Savino Del Bene Scandicci and Igor Gorgonzola Novara, are looking to extend their unbeaten runs. Scandicci will meet Cuneo, while Novara take on Chieri ’76. Both sides have won their first two matches without dropping points and currently lead the overall standings. Another solid week could cement their early dominance in what already looks like a fiercely competitive Serie A1 season.

With the Super Cup Final just days away and the #CLVolleyW campaign on the horizon, this weekend’s fixtures will serve as a key indicator of which Italian powerhouses are hitting their stride at the right moment.
