LA LAGUNA edge COVID-depleted Panathinaikos at tiebreak

CV Tenerife LA LAGUNA claimed on Thursday night the first of two matches with Panathinaikos AC ATHENS scheduled for the quarterfinals of the women’s Challenge Cup. After a rather adventurous journey to Greece, which delayed the match, the Spaniards were able to come back from 1-2 down to secure an advantage ahead of next week’s re-match on home soil.

We had a tough week, and we were missing three important players, but this is not an excuse. The two sets we won give us a chance to fight for a spot in the semis next week in Spain.”
