Polish Volleyball legend Mariusz Wlazly has added yet another record and milestone to his already illustrious career. The 2014 World champion scored his 800th ace in a match of the Polish PlusLiga – while captaining his team Trefl GDANSK in a fixture against BBTS BIELSKO-BIALA.

The almost 40-year-old opposite hitter had to deal with injury recently but his return to the starting six of Trefl coincided with a real bang. Wlazly did score as many as three aces in the match with BIELSKO-BIALA to bring his record to 802! He eventually reached the historic 800-mark at the beginning of the second set before adding another two service winners to his tally. Trefl eventually won the match 3-1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-23).

With a career that has spanned some 20 years, Wlazly is the absolute leader when it comes to aces scored in the elite division of the Polish national league. With 802, Wlazly is a way ahead of his closest competitors Michal Ruciak (439) and Mateusz Bieniek (354).

Even though he will turn 40 later this summer, it does not look like Wlazly is slowing down – and you can be confident that he will be wanting to improve his record even further!
