Poland’s ŁKS Commercecon ŁÓDŹ have advanced to the 8th Finals of the women’s CEV Cup 2025 in emphatic style after recording two 3-0 victories in as many matches with Hidramar GRAN CANARIA. In the rematch in their own arena, the hosts cruised to another comprehensive 3-0 victory, thereby progressing to the next round without any problems, where Italy’s Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA will be their opponent.

The home favourites displayed a superb performance in their re-match with Hidramar GRAN CANARIA

You could say that the match in Łódź was not too drama filled. With the support of their fans, the hosts established their supremacy early in each set, eventually securing a compelling 25-14, 25-15, 25-14 victory. They outclassed their rivals in every element of the game. It is especially worth emphasising the strong and effective serve of the Polish players, who were able to record several streaks of points. Coach Alessandro Chiappini could rotate the line-up, and Angelika Gajer, who was returning from an injury, appeared on the court. Natalia Dróżdż and Sonia Stefanik also made a good change, but the whole team should be praised for their consistent performance. Ukrainian opposite Anastasiia Hryshchuk was honoured as the Most Valuable Player of the night after scoring 10 points.

“Last week was very intensive for us, because we have been travelling a lot, but I am happy that we could manage this challenge well and that we eventually won. We completed and achieved our first goal. The game there was intense. They have some quality players."

“I am proud and satisfied with how my players approached the match. They played until the end with the same focus. It was extremely important, and I am very happy about the result, but I am very happy also about the spirit that I saw on the court,” added Alessandro Chiappini, coach of ŁKS Commercecon.

In the 8th Finals, ŁKS Commercecon will face the Italian heavyweight Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA. The first match will be played in Łódź in late November, while the rematch will follow in Novara on December 11.

The fans had much to celebrate following a 3-0 victory for ŁKS Commercecon
