PIACENZA set sights on #CEVCupM Playoff Round
News
After a marathon match against MODENA in the SuperLega this past weekend, Italy’s Gas Sales Bluenergy PIACENZA returns to the European stage. On Wednesday, they will take to the court at Palabanca for the return leg of the CEV Volleyball Cup 8th Finals against Spanish side Rio Duero SORIA. At stake there is a spot in the next round of the CEV Volleyball Cup. The home side will need to win two sets to secure a place in the Playoff Round. In the first leg, the Biancorossi beat Rio Duero SORIA 3-1 (25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 25-17) in Spain. Should the visitors win 3-0 or 3-1, a Golden Set would be played to 15 points to determine the eventual winners of this double header.
Samuele Papi, assistant coach of Gas Sales Bluenergy PIACENZA: “The most important thing will be to impose our rhythm and style of play right from the first rally. We know that SORIA is a team that plays very well and has dangerous attackers. In the first leg, they caused us difficulties in certain situations, but I repeat, everything will depend on us, our attitude on the court and our ability to impose our game.”
