A cold winter has settled in Warsaw, but some much-needed ‘heat’ will be provided by the upcoming matchup featuring Projekt WARSZAWA of Poland and France’s SAINT-NAZAIRE VB Atlantique scheduled for this coming Wednesday, December 13. Both clubs have secured a place in the 8th Finals after winning their respective matches in the previous stage of the men’s Challenge Cup and will face each other in Arena Ursynów, Warsaw.

Projekt WARSZAWA have recently cemented second place in the standing of the Polish national league

Projekt WARSZAWA will play this match after an important three-point win in the domestic competition against Aluron CMC Warta ZAWIERCIE. Bartłomiej Bołądź and Artur Szalpuk - who was awarded as the Most Valuable Player of the match – were highly instrumental towards the victory. With the help of Frenchman Kévin Tillie and newly arrived American middle blocker Taylor Averill, the second-best team in this year’s Polish championship is determined to make the home-court advantage count.

The current no. 5 team from the French league, SAINT-NAZAIRE VB Atlantique, will try to get back on a winning path after losing a tiebreaker to Stade Poitevin POITIERS. Supporters from the country of the reigning Olympic champions will surely count on the American opposite Kyle Ensing and Jordan Ralph Schnitzer from Canada, who was the top scorer in their last CEV Challenge Cup matchup against Bulgaria’s Deya Volley BURGAS.
