On Wednesday night, Rapid BUCURESTI celebrated their third straight victory in as many matches that they have contested in the women’s CEV Challenge Cup this season so far.

Rapid BUCURESTI delivered a dominant performance in their home match with TJ OSTRAVA

After a very strong start from Rapid (which resulted in a landslide 25-9 win in the first set), the game seemed an easy one for the players coached by Carlo Parisi. However, TJ OSTRAVA mounted a comeback, and the Czechs eventually won the second set (18-25). The home team, however, regained control of the match and dominated the subsequent two sets (25-14, 25-12). Courtesy of this result, the team from Romania’s capital city will have to take another two sets from the re-match in the Czech Republic to secure their spot in the 8th Finals of the competition.

Rapid player, Cuban-born Ailama Cese Montalvo, was the best scorer of the game, with a personal tally of 21 points.

“It was a good game, we played at a good level, and we reached our goal: to win. We already start to think and prepare for the away match."
