Knack Roeselare took a big step towards qualifying for the semifinals of the CEV Volleyball Cup, following a win in the first leg of their all-Belgian quarterfinal clash against Greenyard Maaseik.
It was not an easy task for Roeselare despite playing in front of their homes fans at the Tomabel Hall, winning narrowly in four sets 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-23), a score that proves there is still a lot more to play for in next week’s return match.

Steven VANMEDEGAEL“Small details decided about the result of the match because my team didn’t show their best volleyball. But winning with 3-1 put us in the best position for next week Wednesday. If we can take two sets, we move further to the semi-finals which is still our goal.”
Ferre REGGERS“It’s a pity that we lost this match with 3-1 because my team deserved better. It was such a close game. We played on a level that we can beat them. So, next Wednesday we go for the victory and the golden set. Everything is still possible.”
