WEVZA Cup winners ROMA Volley advance confidently to the 8th Finals of the women’s Challenge Cup 2025 following another dominant 3-0 win (25-14, 25-17, 25-21) over Romania’s Rapid BUCURESTI.
Amélie Rotar“It was a great advantage for us to have made things easier by securing a three-set win at home, which meant we only needed two sets here. It was a great victory, and we are happy for it."

Building on their 3-0 win in the first leg, ROMA Volley arrived in Bucharest with high confidence. The Italian team took control early on, but the Romanian players showed much resilience, pushing back and even giving signs that they might be able to turn the tide. However, each time Rapid threatened to shift the momentum, ROMA Volley regrouped and reclaimed the lead, thus reasserting their dominance. Their seamless teamwork and strong defence kept Rapid at bay throughout, eventually leaving little doubt about the outcome.
With back-to-back straight-set wins, ROMA Volley advances to the 8th Finals, where they will face the winners of the match between Levski SOFIA (BUL) and Apollo 8 BORNE (NED) and will be aiming to continue their strong form in the Challenge Cup.
Sorina Miclăuș“It was not an easy game at all, just like in the first leg. Playing at home, we wanted to perform much better than we did in the away game. It was challenging for us not to be able to rely on Milagros Collar due to her injury, especially since she is our captain. That made it even more difficult for us."
