SC Potsdam and Chieri'76 have won the Home Leg of the Challenge Cup 2025 Women Semifinals
News
The CEV Challenge Cup Women has reached the semifinals stage in style, with all four teams leaving it all on the court in their attempt to get just one step closer to the coveted trophy.
Among the four teams still in the competition we have two Italian teams and one from Türkiye and Germany respectively. Given how the bracket has fallen into place, Italian fans' hopes of an all-Italian Final are still very much alive, following a strong performance away from home by Chieri against Türkiye's Galatasaray Dalkin Istanbul and a narrow defeat by Roma Volley against Germany's SC Potsdam.
Given their performance so far, Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri'76 is considered by many to be the favourite for the title, which would be an amazing achievement for the Italians, the CEV Cup reigning Champions. They should be expecting a heated atmosphere when travelling to Istanbul in a couple of weeks, visiting a team with a very passionate following, Galatsaray Istanbul.
The other semifinal already offered a five-sets thriller, with Potsdam's Danielle Harbin leading the scorers' charts on 20 pts, followed by Roma's Wilma Salas Rosell with 19 pts. This semifinal is far from being decided and we're very much looking forward to what will be on display in the return leg.
