The national season came to an end, and now all eyes are on the upcoming club season. Without a doubt, all strong and assertive teams will aim to make a good start to the new journey. This weekend, the Italian #CLVolleyM teams will compete in the Super Cup Final Four, while in Belgium and Germany, the first week of league matches begins.
The top four teams in Italy will fight against each other to start the season by claiming the Italian Super Cup title. Two CEV Champions League Volley participants, Sir Sicoma Monini PERUGIA and Vero Volley MONZA, will be in this stage. First, Perugia will take the court against Piacenza, and after that, Monza will meet Trentino to secure their place in the final. The semifinals will be held on this Saturday, and on Sunday we will learn this year’s Italian Super Cup champion.
Germany will be represented by three teams this season in the CEV Champions League Volley, and each team will kick off their club season with the first leg of the German 1. Bundesliga. Of course, the biggest favorite will be BERLIN Recycling Volleys: They took all three domestic cups last season (Super Cup, German Cup, national league) and surely aim to achieve a similar success this year as well. However, the first test will be quite difficult for them since they will host another #CLVolleyM squad, Helios Grizzlys GIESEN.
Last year’s CEV Cup finalist Giesen side did not achieve the results they desired in the previous editions of the domestic tournaments. Therefore, they will definitely want to show their strength and take a psychological advantage over their biggest rival by starting the season with an important victory.
The most successful Belgian team, Knack ROESELARE, will begin the new season by visiting Waremme in the first week of the Belgian Volley League. Last year, they stood at the top of the podium in each national tournament they have competed in, and the goal will surely be the same. The other #CLVolleyM team of the country, Greenyard MAASEIK, will face Brabo Antwerp, focusing on a straight-set victory and a good performance.
The road to the season’s national titles begins now, with the Super Cup in Italy and the first round of the national leagues in Germany and Belgium. It will be an important test for both Perugia and Monza to see whether they will win the first trophy of the season. Similarly, it is important to pay attention to what BR Volleys will do since they will play against one of their strongest opponents, Giesen. It will be exciting to see how the #CLVolleyM teams perform as they enter the new season.
