Volei Alba BLAJ two sets away from reaching #CEVCupW quarterfinals

On Wednesday night, Romania’s CS Volei Alba BLAJ made a huge leap toward reaching the quarterfinals of the women’s CEV Volleyball Cup 2025 following their comprehensive 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-14, 25-23) over Avarca de MENORCA while playing away from home.  

With the second set as the only exception, where the Romanian team was clearly on a class of their own, the match was very closely fought up until the end of both sets 1 and 3. However, the visitors from Romania looked more consistent and made fewer errors when it mattered the most, courtesy of their defence actions and solid blocking, areas where they excelled throughout the whole match.

The return match scheduled for January 21 in Blaj will define which team progresses to the quarterfinals. Alba Volei needs to take at least two sets to secure their campaign in this European competition continues further.
