First Ever Under 20 Snow Volley Tournament Makes History in Bakuriani, Georgia

This past weekend, Bakuriani, Georgia played host to the first ever CEV U20 Snow Volleyball European Championships. Between 1-3 March, nine teams from seven countries (men) and ten teams from eight countries (women) took the opportunity to make history for a young sport with a lot of promise.
On the women's side of the competition, the Czech Republic took home the gold medal, defeating Poland in the Final in three sets(2-1; 10-15, 15-13, 15-7), while Türkiye claimed bronze after defeating Italy in the third place match, also in 3 sets, with quite a bit of drama in the decisive set (2-1; 7-15, 15-12, 18-16.
On the men's side, things were the other way around, this time Poland claiming Gold after defeating the Czech Republic in two sets with a dominant performance on the snowy court (0-2; 10-15, 6-15). In the Bronze Medal match, it was Türkiye again that prevailed, this time over Bulgaria in just two sets, but highly disputed (2-0; 15-13, 22-20).
