“In the second set we showed at times that it is possible for us to keep up with a team like Bulgaria. I am happy with the enthusiasm and heart my team showed in the past three days,” said Austria’s head coach Stefan Spirk.

Earlier in the afternoon, Lithuania claimed a compelling 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-15) win over Denmark to claim second place on two wins and six points. Whether they make it to the Final Round or not will be decided on Sunday depending on the results from the other pools. “Right now, it feels very emotional. We achieved our goal by winning two games and securing six points. Hopefully we will make it to Final Round,” so Kestutis Galdikas, head coach of the Lithuanian team.
