Croatia qualifies for #EuroVolleyU18W via MEVZA zonal event

The women’s U18 national team of Croatia will compete at this year’s continental championship in their age group. In a thrilling gold medal match against Slovenia at the MEVZA zonal qualifier held in Maribor, Croatia managed to secure a 3-1 victory to progress straight to the Final Round. Hungary completed the podium in Maribor following a 3-1 win in the bronze medal matchup with Slovakia. 

With Croatia qualified for the Final Round, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia as well as fifth-placed Czechia and Austria, who finished the competition in sixth place, will continue their journey in the second round of qualifications scheduled for this coming April. Cyprus and Israel, after finishing seventh and eighth respectively, are eliminated. 

The MEVZA qualifier for #EuroVolleyU18M continued in Zadar, Croatia with the teams of Slovenia, Czechia, Israel, and Austria progressing to the semis. There Czechia beat Austria 3-1 (15-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-23) and Slovenia edged Israel 3-2 after coming back from two sets down (28-30, 22-25,25-15, 25-18, 15-13). Croatia and Hungary will lock horns in the match for fifth and sixth place. The eventual winners will secure their participation in the Final Round, which is due to take place later this year in Bulgaria.
