Teruel, Spain, May 6, 2019. After the two rival teams enjoyed a great season, with CV TERUEL securing the Supercopa and Unicaja ALMERIA winning the King’s Cup, the undisputed leaders of the Spanish national league locked horns again in the ‘grand finale’ where TERUEL secured their seventh title in 10 years.
CV TERUEL claimed the first two rounds of the championship series at home and eventually played Unicaja ALMERIA away while leading the way with two wins from two. CV TERUEL imposed their quality again, especially with the help of their setter Pedro Rangel, and their opposite Andrés Villena.
Unicaja ALMERIA played without important players but their game did improve compared to their previous matches. However, after losing closely fought first and second sets, they somehow surrendered and paved the way towards a third straight victory for TERUEL.
The club from Aragón celebrated this month the tenth anniversary since they won their first league title. CV TERUEL have now secured top honours from the competition as many as seven times in 10 years.

Andrés Villena received the MVP award and became the first player in history to secure this honour with three different teams - Unicaja ALMERIA, Ca’n Ventura PALMA and CV TERUEL. “Each award is different because it has come with a different team,” Villena said after the medal ceremony.
Whit this title, CV TERUEL finished a truly exciting season with two domestic triumphs (Supercopa and national league) and a successful comeback to the European Cups.
