Pool A
ROMANIA –SPAIN
2 – 3 (25 - 13, 14 - 25, 25 - 21, 16 - 25, 9 - 15)

The first and second of Pool A faced each other and the result could only be a tie-break. The Spanish team eventually emerged victorious to extend their lead at the top of the group. Romania had to pay a high price for their many mistakes, even though their rising star Alexia Ioana Carutasu was again the top scorer of the match with as many as 24 points.


FRANCE – AZERBAIJAN
3 - 1 (25 - 21, 19 - 25, 25 - 13, 25 - 20)

France beat Azerbaijan with the help of a very inspired Héléna Cazaute, top scorer of the match with 29 points and top server with five aces. The French captain helped her team towards an important victory in order to remain close to Spain and Romania in the pool standing - and thus in contention for a spot in the Final Four.

Pool B
UKRAINE - BULGARIA
0 – 3 (26 - 28, 13 - 25, 22 - 25)

The unstoppable march of Bulgaria continues in the CEV Volleyball European Golden League 2021. The team led by Ivan Petkov, after a first set won in extra time, easily wins the second and third to cement their first place in Pool B.

Pool C
BELARUS -CROATIA
0 – 3 (23 - 25, 15 - 25, 20 - 25)

Croatia, after the two defeats against Hungary and the Czech Republic, conquers the first victory in the CEV Volleyball European Golden League and three important points for the standing of Pool C. Top scorer of the match Matea Ikic (CRO) with 14 points.

"Today I am happy with the victory, it is sure this team need to play. We had to play without the opposite Fabris and middle blocker Samadan but we played well without a lot of mistakes, we served well and had good blocks, 11 in total. Now we have two days free before we play three important matches. We hope our team can improve more."

HUNGARY – CZECH REPUBLIC
0 – 3 (16 - 25, 17 - 25, 16 - 25)

Although with one game less, the Czech Republic climbs to the top of the standing in Pool C and place themselves in front of Croatia thanks to their 3-0 victory over Hungary, 12 winning blocks and 17 points of the top scorer of the match Gabriela Orvosova.

"We thought the match would be more difficult, because the Hungarians defeated the Croatians 3:2, but today they didn't show much. Our whole team showed a good performance today, so I would like to praise all the girls."
