Every day, Armenian fans can witness as many as eight matches, which bring great joy and pleasant moments to the spectators. This historic event unofficially began on July 19, when the start of the championship was announced in the centre of Yerevan and the Armenian U16 national team presented itself to the fans in the capital city’s downtown, accompanied by the championship mascot, Hovazik (click here for further information).

A number of tense and interesting matches has already taken place and after two competition days, Poland, Greece and Spain have a perfect record of two wins in Pool I. Czechia, defending champions Italy and France boast the same 2-0 win-loss record in Pool II.

The organisers have designed a special prize for the best scorer in each of the matches scheduled for the opening day. The winners of this prize were awarded by Armenian Volleyball legend, silver medallist of the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal and European champion Nina Muradyan, who is the most high-profile guest and ambassador of the championship.

The event in Yerevan continues until August 3 when the winners will be crowned at the end of a truly exciting competition featuring the stars in the making of European Volleyball.
