Kosovo lose second straight match on home soil

The home team of Kosovo lost also their second match in the #EuroVolleyU22M qualifier currently held in Pristina. After suffering a setback against Azerbaijan on Friday, the hosts had to admit defeat in their matchup with Slovakia as well (8-25, 13-25, 13-25). Kosovo attempted at putting up a fight against a strong Volleyball nation such as Slovakia, but they eventually failed to take at least one set. Kosovo will be playing their last match on Sunday when they take on group favourites the Netherlands.

Slovakia beat hosts Kosovo 3-0 on Saturday in Pristina

Later in the afternoon, the Netherlands beat Azerbaijan 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-20) to keep a perfect record in the competition. The Azerbaijanis started well, winning the first set, but failed to keep the same pace in the remainder of the match – with the young ‘Oranjes’ eventually securing a 3-1 victory. The Netherlands will be playing hosts Kosovo on Sunday in an effort to secure first place in the pool – and with it a place in the Final Round of the inaugural #EuroVolleyU22M.
