Neighbours KAPOSVAR and NITRA to battle for #CEVChallengeCupW semi-final spot

Kaposvar, Hungary, December 10, 2020. 1. MCM-Diamant KAPOSVAR of Hungary (pictured) and VP UKF NITRA of Slovakia will lock horns on Thursday afternoon with a spot in the semis of the women’s CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup 2021 at stake.

The ‘bubble’ tournament held in Kaposvar started on Wednesday with two 8th Final matches, where the home side stormed to a comprehensive 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-18, 25-20) over TJ OSTRAVA of the Czech Republic. Sara Klisura top scored for KAPOSVAR with 18 points, well supported by Adela Helic with 17. Andrea Strbova was the most prolific player for TJ OSTRAVA recording 12 points for the losing side.

Later in the evening, Slovakia’s VP UKF NITRA needed three sets (25-12, 25-17, 25-17) only as well to storm past OK Vardar Ženi 2019 SKOPJE of North Macedonia. Caroline Dias Godoi top scored for the Slovakian team with 15 points.

Another ticket to the semis of the Challenge Cup competition will be at stake on Thursday in Sibiu, Romania, in the matchup between hosts C.S.M. Volei Alba BLAJ and VK PROSTEJOV of the Czech Republic.
