Three previous winners will line up at the start of the CEV Volleyball European Golden League 2025 Women, with 12 teams trying to fight for the coveted trophy, which will be awarded in the Final Four due to take place in Ängelholm, Sweden, on 28 and 29 June.

The current format, introduced in 2024, provides all participating teams with the opportunity to host a tournament on home soil – and to play two matches on the very same weekend at home against two quality opponents. This new formula significantly reduces travel costs, while also allowing all participants to promote their national teams.

Two of the Final Four participants last season – Romania and Sweden – return for this edition of the competition, while three previous winners – Ukraine, Hungary and Sweden – have a chance to secure the title once again.

Sweden, the reigning champions, will host the Final Four, in Ängelholm, aiming to become the first team to retain their title and secure back-to-back trophies since Serbia in 2009, 2010 and 2011. They are also the team to throw off the competition, with the first match against Portugal being scheduled on Thursday, 29 May, at 17:00 CEST.

There are three weeks of intense volleyball scheduled, with the first week seeing the teams play in Örebro, Sweden, Podgorica, Montenegro, Baku, Azerbaijan and Kozani, Greece, between 30 May and 1 June.
The second week of the competition will see the 12 teams head to Portugal, Romania, Spain and Slovakia, between 6 and 8 June, while the third week will be played in Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia and Poland – where Ukraine are designated hosts.

The four teams with the largest number of wins will progress to the Final Four, due to be held in Ängelholm, Sweden, between 4 and 6 July. With another title, Ukraine can tie the record for the largest number of wins in the CEV Volleyball European Golden League Women currently held by Serbia, with three wins.

Nine sides to challenge for the CEV Volleyball European Silver League 2025 Women title

Nine teams will also line up at the start of the CEV Volleyball European Silver League 2025 Women, which will take place over four weeks, with the winner being decided in the final, which will be played in a home-and-away system on 26 and 29 June.

With the winner from the last edition, Portugal, promoted to the Golden League, only 9 teams will now start the competition, with Austria, Switzerland, Latvia, Israel, Georgia, North Macedonia, Luxembourg, the Faroe Islands and Iceland lining up at the start.

These sides will fight for the title, as the competition will see four weeks played, with matches scheduled between 30 May and 1 June, 6 and 8 June and 13 and 14 June respectively.

The best two-placed sides – the teams with the largest number of wins – will then head to the final, played on 26 and 29 June, in a home-and-away system.
