Poland emerge victorious from EEVZA #EuroVolleyU18W qualifier

This past November 20-23, the Georgian city of Telavi became the epicentre of thrilling Volleyball action as it hosted the first qualifying round of the CEV U18 Women’s European Championship run by the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA). The tournament brought together some rising stars of European Volleyball, as teams from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine, and hosts Georgia competed at the Telavi Sports Palace, delivering four days of high-level Volleyball and unforgettable experiences for these youngsters. 

Poland were the dominant force in Telavi and secured their participation in next year's #EuroVolleyU18W

The final match featured Poland and Ukraine, with the White-and-Reds securing the championship title with a dominant 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-13, 25-12) and with it also the ticket to the #EuroVolleyU18W Final Round scheduled for the summer of next year in Latvia and Lithuania. In the third place match, Estonia faced Azerbaijan, securing a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-17, 25-18) and earning the bronze medal. The final competition day opened with a confident victory for Georgia over Armenia (25-20, 25-23, 25-13). This means that Ukraine, Estonia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia will all contest the second round of qualifiers scheduled for the early spring of 2026.

The Dream Team of the EEVZA qualifier held in Telavi, Georgia


The event significantly contributed to the promotion of sports in the region and provided valuable international experience for young athletes. Telavi welcomed players and fans alike with warm hospitality, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the tournament. The championship was organised by the Georgian Volleyball Federation, with support from the Ministry of Sport of Georgia, the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA), and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). Georgia proudly continues to establish itself as a growing hub for international Volleyball events.
