Organised by the Georgian Volleyball Federation and the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA), a zonal qualifier for next year’s #EuroVolleyU18M will run this week in the city of Telavi from December 5-9, 2023.

The matches will be held at Telavi’s Sports Palace, with participation of the U18 men’s national teams of Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Poland, and Ukraine. The eventual winners will progress directly to the Final Round of this age-group continental championship scheduled for the summer of 2024 in Sofia and Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The teams finishing in second and third place will continue their journey in the second round of European qualifiers coming up in April 2024.

Earlier this year, the city of Telavi hosted a second-round qualifier for the U17 European Championships. At that time, the young girls of Georgia made history by qualifying for the final stage of a European competition for the first time. This time, rising stars from across the EEVZA countries will have the chance to compete against each other, to show their own skills, and gain much needed and valuable competition experience.

Partners of the EEVZA competition and #EuroVolleyU18M qualifier in Telavi are Georgia’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Georgian National Olympic Committee, and the company Borjomi.
