CEV and the development of Volleyball at grassroot level
The Coaches Convention is a key asset of the CEV School Project. Its format allows coaches and physical education teachers to both learn and share ideas, and network / make connections with like-minded people.
"We, at the CEV, are privileged of being in a position to make positive changes...We would love that the first impression of every child, who is just introduced to Volleyball, inspires the beginning of a hopefully long journey in our sport- as a player, a coach, a referee, a fan…,” Vuk Karanovic, CEV Development Manager says.
Vuk Karanovic"For that reason, we host the CEV Coaches Convention as a capacity building event, where teachers from all across Europe come together a weekend to learn from some of the best experts in the world on the topic, and exchange experience.”

The Host City
The North Macedonian Volleyball Federation has collaborated successfully with the CEV in the past years, delivering high-class events, and converting themselves in a reliable partner. Now, the organisers are excited to give a warm welcome in “the city of solidarity” to the guests of the CEV Coaches Convention, that will take place at the 5-star Aleksandar Palace Hotel. A huge plus is the fact that the elite sport facilities are within a walking distance, providing an utmost experience for the guests.
Sanja Nikcevic“Hosting the CEV Coaches Convention in Skopje is another event which creates recognition of the Macedonian Volleyball Federation on the International Volleyball stage. Earlier this summer, the Federation will host as well the #EuroVolleyU19W, which serves as a built-up to the EuroVolley 2023 where North Macedonia is one of the co-organisers. All these events are strengthening the Volleyball community in Macedonia, raising the visibility of the sport.”

CEV School Project in North Macedonia
Entering into partnership with CEV for the implementation of the CEV School Project allowed the North Macedonian Federation to raise the level of the Volleyball activities on grassroots level. With the support of CEV, the Federation managed to reach more than 80 primary schools and to involve more than 2000 children in the program together with the local Volleyball clubs. The aim of the project is to make the first Volleyball experience for the kids something to remember.
Sanja Nikcevic“To do so, we need to enhance the knowledge of the coaches and teachers, and that’s why events like the CEV Coaches Convention are so important to the North Macedonian Volleyball community.”
